TRAP DOOR MAGAZINE was originally created by Russell "Trapp" Tucker (while incarcerated by the Maryland State Department of Corrections) to advertise, promote, and market music. Later, after market research determined that competitors were over charging consumers on the products, that were and are being sold, it was decided to include other products like: brand name apparel for men and women, DVDs, books, and more. Our overall goal is to supply consumers with the best available products at an affordable price and to create more jobs in an institutional setting; giving consumers purchasing power without over extending themselves.
All of our products are authentic, although it may be hard to believe, especially with prices this low. When we put this website together, we took into consideration the estimated annual income of the consumers in “OUR” neighborhood (which is around $19,960 per year and computes to about $10.00 an hour). A smart businessman would never put a five star restaurant near the projects and expect it to be successful, because he knows that the residents of that community could not possibly afford to eat there. However, a smart businessman would place a small carry-out that serves a sub sandwich, small french fry, and can soda near the projects because he knows that the people are more likely to afford a $5.00 combo than a $50 entrée.
In closing, allow me to formally thank you for taking the time to view our website. We appreciate your patronage. Your support is very important to us, it allow us to in turn support you. With every institution our catalog is allowed into, we will be able create seven jobs. There are currently 28 institutions within the state of Maryland. If you do the numbers, that turns out to be 196 jobs. Is that enough jobs to compensate for 30.5% who experts say are more likely to grow up in impoverished, racially isolated neighborhoods, attend subpar public schools, and experience discrimination, no! In fact it’s not even scratching the surface; however it is a start.
